Connecting Excellence on European Governance: Multi-Level Governance in the European Union

This edited book is the outcome of a stocktaking conference on the theme of multi-level governance (MLG). It challenges previous research on this topic, not least by providing detailed case studies of the scope of MLG in the field of the EU’s structural funds and EU environmental policy. It identifies new, more diffuse modes of governance that have sprung up in the interstices of the formal institutions in the EU and member states.
