Data-Driven Aerospace Design through the Statistical Characterisation of the Search and Rescue Environment

Project Details

Description

This project, funded by the Jean Golding Institute Seed Corn Call 2021-2022, aims to characterise the mission profile and environment for Search And Rescue (SAR) in the United Kingdom. This will be achieved through data fusion across novel data sources, including real-time tracking of maritime vessels, SAR helicopters, historic weather data and existing public data sets concerning SAR activities in the UK. Extensive engagement with SAR stakeholders will also be performed to provide the required expertise and context to the data-focused project.
