Decolonising the Dental Curriculum

Project Details

Description

Decolonising the Curriculum is a key priority across Higher Education and at the University of Bristol. But there is little understanding of what this means, This study aims to collect data to understand what it means for the School and how we can make the School more inclusive.

This study will be coproduced with student researchers who will be paid for their time. It has 3 key arms:

All School survey - We will develop separate surveys for staff and students based on surveys that have been used in other schools and universities
Focus groups - one per year group led by student researchers and at least one for staff. All participants will be paid for their time with an online voucher for £20.
Community involvement - members of community organisations representing diverse patient groups across Bristol will be invited in to the University to deliver talks to students and staff. These will be evaluated and reviewed for inclusion into the formal curriculum. Data collection was funded till Jul 22.
