Project Details

Description

The project builds on the UoB’s and Macquarie University’s strategic partnership and follows the signing of a co-tutelle agreement in 2017. Since then, the Faculties of Arts at both institutions have expressed the desire to explore the possibility of a dual PhD programme and to develop cross-institutional collaborative research projects. We now plan to pursue both aims through scoping work in three areas where the two Faculties share global expertise: ancient history and classical civilisation; medieval cultures and histories; modern mobilities and transnationalism. The project consolidates existing individual
partnerships, creates new ones, and provides for all a supportive, overarching rationale and cross-institutional framework.

It concentrates on three areas in this initial phase: ancient history and classical civilisation; medieval cultures and histories; modern mobilities and transnationalism. The project consolidates existing individual
partnerships, creates new ones, and provides for all a supportive, overarching rationale and cross-institutional framework.
