Description
Dig the Castle researches Great Torrington’s ‘lost’ castle. Volunteer archaeologists & local residents excavate in collaboration. The project is a branch of the international charity, Archaeologists Engage.
Key findings
The identification of a previously-obscured multi-phase archaeological site, including a double motte and bailey Norman castle.
