Project Details
Description
The award is to extend my research into the practical and emotional support needs of women who have left an abusive relationship, spent time in a refuge and been re-housed. It will examine the source, nature and duration of any formal and informal support systems, women’s experience of support and any influence this has had on their subsequent life choices and destinations. The study aims to provide greater understanding of the pressures and difficulties involved in integrating into a new community and to build a substantive knowledge base which will enable policy makers and providers to establish cost effective and appropriate support to service users.
