Project Details

Description

The project aims to identify alterations in cortical - descending pain modulatory system (DPMS) network dynamics during noxious challenge and following tissue injury. To relate these signatures to pain state development. The dependence on basolateral amygdala CGRP signalling will be assessed.

Layman's description

To identify changes in brain neuronal network communication following peripheral tissue injury and relate these to the pain state that develops subsequently. To asses the potential therapeutic benefit of targeting the neuronal signalling peptide CGRP.
