The proposed project is aimed at organising a one week visit to the UK of Dr Innocent Kafodya from University of Malawi. This visit will take place in January 2023. The team will arrange a seminar given by Dr Kafodya to promote the activities completed during the East Africa Seismic Risk Parthernship (EASRP) project now completed (https://www.saferpreparedafrica.net/).
There will be a planning meeting to discuss funding opportunities following the special session of the EASRP team at the UKADR 2022 conference in Edinburgh (bringing in ideas for further ocllaborations triggered by the special session at the UKADR conference). This planning meeting will involve the PREPARE, SAFER-PREPARED and EASRP research teams spanning between Engineering and Earth Sciences in the UK and in Malawi.
The activities of Dr Kafodya when visiting the University of Bristol will be developed in coordination with the Cabot Institute and the Perivoli Centre
