Enforcing ‘Responsible Gambling’ Regulations: The (Irresponsible?) Impact on Employees of Betting and Gambling Outlet

This exploratory project aims to draw attention to the role played by front-line employees of betting shops when considering the enforcement of ‘responsible gambling’ regulations. The project aims to examine the potential for harm to cashiers, managers and customers in the creation of ‘safer gambling’ spaces, and to consider the contradictions and issues within policies that place the onus of harm reduction on front-line employees.
