Engaging disadvantaged communities in Temple Quarter to widen access to palliative care and bereavement support

Project Details

Description

This project engages two disadvantaged communities in Temple Quarter (the Somali community in Barton Hill and the majority white community living in Redcliffe) around a topic which concerns us all: serious illness, death and bereavement. We will conduct 4 focus groups (2 in each community) to: (1) generate new data to reduce health inequity by widening access to local palliative care services in these communities close to Temple Quarter and (2) co-produce two research proposals for funding applications. The project builds on the applicants’ prior engagement with the Somali community and white Bristol-residents in the lowest deprivation decile.
