Project Details
Description
Tackling climate and social justice together is a cornerstone of eco-pedagogy. How this can be achieved in practice within mainstream school setting is contested. Moreover, work within mainstream secondary school settings, using outdoor spaces, is rare and under-researched. Thus, where current practice is to be found provides a rich site of possibility for future designs for both research and practice. Learning from novel practice is key.
This is to conduct a small-scale qualitative pilot study with students from secondary school already working in outdoor spaces. This would, in the first instance, bring these groups of students together with researchers on-site for photo-elicitation interviews, within the outdoor environment, to capture good practice, and use this to underpin future, larger projects.
