Project Details
Description
Modern universities are developed to favour privileged white European heterosexual men whose devotion to research and knowledge resembles that of monks in a monastery under religious vows. Widened participation and internationalisation, however, have led to a diverse profile of students and staff working in this space. With care-related duties, costs, and entitlements rarely factored fully into the maintenance of such spaces, this research makes visible hidden journeys that individuals with care duties must take, navigate, and make sense of, in order to exist and thrive in higher education.
