Increasing Impact: Mandatory Grief Education in Schools

Project Details

Description

Funded by an ESRC Impact Acceleration Grant, we will record a panel discussion on ‘Grief Education in Schools’ for the Good Grief Festival, featuring Michael Rosen, a high-profile children’s author, broadcaster and activist, Jess Bacon, a young person who experienced the death of her dad while she was at school, and Tracey Boseley, Head of Education Sector Support for Child Bereavement UK.

The panel will increase the impact of our research on the benefits of grief education in schools. This is a very timely project, as the government has indicated that they will be reviewing the current RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education) guidance in schools this calendar year. We want to ensure that they will consider including mandatory grief education in future curriculum documents.
