This project is aimed at building knowledge and research capacities into the impact which national institutions have on innovation in emerging economies and particularly in Latin America.. Professor McDermott from the Sonoco School of International Business, the University of South Carolina is an established researcher in this field with a recent focus on wine making and soya production in Argentina where he has examined how business associations, science institutions and local government have combined in certain sectors and regions to create innovative products. He will present a research seminar to colleagues and work on developing this agenda with Professor Morgan.
