KTS: High Temperature Behaviour of Welded Joints

  • Tanner, David W J (Principal Investigator)

Project Details

The University of Bristol has current and past EPSRC-funded projects that are investigating the mechanical behaviour of metal welds that eventually operate at high temperature. In parallel EDF Energy maintains a UK industry-wide procedure (called R5) for assessing the response of high temperature structures. EDF Energy seeks to maintain and incorporate advances in the understanding of fracture mechanics and the behaviour of engineering materials and structures. The purpose of this Knowledge Transfer Secondment (KTS) will be to take research results and integrate them into the R5 procedure.
