Description
The proposed research develops novel, interdisciplinary methods that facilitate the extraction of information from historical maps to study the evolution of land use patterns and urban growth. The output will be combined with a narrative approach in an interactive map, which documents the evolution of cities over a period of structural transformation (1870-1940) and urban renewal (1950-).
