Project Details
Description
This project focuses upon the issues and challenges involved in tackling deprivation and neighbourhood decline in remote rural areas, in the context of the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF). The project contributes to the development of a local neighbourhood renewal strategy for West Cornwall Local Strategic Partnership. The empirical research comprised three phases:
1. the identification and mapping of deprivation at a small area level using census and other data sources to identify priority areas for NRF support
2. consultation with "key stakeholders" to identify the priorities and challenges faced by deprived neighbourhoods, and
3. an audit of community services, resource flows and community organisation.
The Full Report and Executive Summary are now available for download from the Townsend Centre website.
