Project Details
Description
Dr Jon Symonds has been awarded a Fellowship from the School for Social Care Research to build capacity in researchers of social care. His successful proposal was to conduct a feasibility study into the Outcomes in Social Care Assessments (OSCA). This study will involve working with a local authority to investigate the possibility of making a large collection of video recordings of assessments in adult social care. He will also do further training in quantitative research methods to develop an outcomes measure to pilot with service users, carers and social workers. He will be mentored by Professor Liz Lloyd and supported by Dr William Turner. The project will run from September 2016 until April 2017 with a view to preparing a larger scale funding proposal to conduct the envisaged study.
