Policy for Net Zero – the case of Bristol City Leap and Social Value

Project Details

Description

This project is looking at concepts of social value, net zero policy and the maximising of co-benefits in decarbonising a city region. We focus particularly on Bristol City Leap which, over 20 years, will leverage up to £1bn investment in energy performance through a joint venture contract with the city council. The research aims to take an interdisciplinary approach to exploring different facets of social value including democratic processes, engagement, supply chain and innovation to provide valuable policy insights for maximising benefits and fostering a just transition to a ‘smart’ local energy system and city scale net zero.
