This project provides a review of the multi-dimensional measurement of social exclusion. It examines significant previous quantitative research across the four life stages of childhood, youth, working age and older age, in order to:

• appraise the strengths and weaknesses of existing methodologies relating to multi-dimensional measurement of social exclusion
• develop options and recommendations for future analysis to operationalise the concept of 'deep exclusion' across each of the life stages.
