The objectives of this research are to:

1. identify and develop mechanisms for the rural proofing of neighbourhood renewal programmes in rural or partly rural areas
2. review their effectiveness in the context of partnership arrangements; evaluate and disseminate 'best practice' in rural regeneration initiatives
3. review the effectiveness of neighbourhood renewal programme delivery in rural areas.
