Silent Histories and Worthless Scraps: Discovering the Lost Voices of Ancient Israel through Inscriptions, Manuscripts, and Fragments

How can we recover individual histories of daily life, economic history, and scribal culture from ancient Israel without looking at the more neglected and fragmentary sources of written material culture, beyond biblical texts and literature? This project intends to recover and reconstruct lesser known aspects of history in ancient Israel and early Judaism with a focus on non-literary or documentary sources.
