Project Details
Description
Stroke treatment often involves resource intensive, potentially harmful treatments, including interventional neuroradiology, vascular surgery and neurosurgery, making individualised treatment decisions very important. Clinical decision-making requires mentally combining data from fragmented sources, especially imaging and clinical information. Data linkage and artificial intelligence based predictive modelling has the potential to transform clinical decision-making.
This project will produce a repository of routinely collected NHS stroke clinical and imaging data, curated to enable the development of artificial intelligence software for clinical applications. The design and plan of a data pipeline, centred around the NBT Data Warehouse, PACS and Electronic Patient Record, will be made scaleable to include other health, social care and research data sources.
