Teaching and learning programmes for new lecturers in HE

Project Details

Description

This study will explore new lecturers' perceptions of teaching and research, as well as their perceptions about the link between teaching and research.

The aim of this project is to develop innovative materials and activities, and collect best practice examples that focus on the link between research and teaching, that can be utilised within university Teaching and Learning in Higher Education programmes for new lecturers.

A comparison between UK and Canada is taken in order to provide an international perspective on this issue and to help develop materials that would be relevant in different national contexts.

It is anticipated that the materials and activities will also be produced online to allow for easy access for course leaders in teaching and learning programmes who are interested in exploring the possibilities for linking research and teaching.
