  • Prosser, Tony A W (Principal Investigator)

Project Details

Description

Professor Tony Prosser is currently developing the theoretical bases and comparative application of the work contained in his 2014 book 'The Economic Constitution'. The current work concentrates on constitutions as a means of communication within government and between government and civil society, and develops the approaches of Habermas's discursive democracy and of discourse theory in the context of economic management. He is also undertaking comparative work on the constitutional effects of austerity projects, examining balanced budget rules, the creation of independent fiscal councils and the organisation of spending reviews in a number of different European countries.
