The Effect of Trade on Workers’ Earnings: Role of Unemployment

Project Details

We plan a sequence of studies to explore the impact of foreign competition on the incidence and duration of unemployment spells across trade intensive and non-intensive sectors. In the first project by using German administrative data, we first plan to document the impact of surge in import from China between 1990 to 2000 on earning losses and unemployment duration across different sectors and workers’ type.
