Updating the Fuel Poverty Indicator for England

This research seeks to update the official Fuel Poverty Indicator for England based on 2001 census data, results from the 2003 English House Condition Survey, and property information data (RESIDATA). The work will be based upon a revised methodology which draws upon improvements to energy use modelling and income measurement within the 2003 EHCS, as well as improvements in the output geography and compatibility of 2001 Census data. The results of these analyses will be made fully and freely accessible and interactive, with mapped data available for download through the internet. Continuing validation and future bi-annual published updates may become possible as a result of this research.
