Visit to the British University in Egypt to conceptualise and scope a new collaborative project application to the Newton Institutional Links Programme.

  • Warr, Paul A (Principal Investigator)
  • Naji, Adham (Co-Investigator)

Project Details

A 1-week visit by the applicant to the BUE specifically to conceptualise and scope a future application to the Newton Institutional Links Programme. The applicant will work alongside the host, Dr Naji, to create this new concept. This cannot happen in Bristol: the concept creation requires extensive use of a parallel computing facility and very expensive software licence provision for electromagnetic system simulation. The BUE boasts an electromagnetic simulation facility that is world leading and which massively out-performs that held at the UOB.

Layman's description

An extension of collaboration via a proposal to the Newton Fund Institutional Links Programme to support future collaborative research in radar-based archaeological surveying.

Key findings

A new and novel resonator structure for the detection of unseen objects.
