Project Details

Description

This software uses a model of visual processing, developed by David Tolhurst at the University of Cambridge, to provide a quantitative evaluation of conspicuity. The package is designed to assist rail safety engineers to choose the optimal locations for railway signals, but could be utilised in any context where visibility of objects is important. Typical applications may include the transport, maritime and aviation industries, design of displays, or any setting where signage is to be installed.
