Abstract
This review of the availability, uptake, and effectiveness of bank card gambling blockers shows they can be an effective way to help people control their spending on gambling. The review draws on: insights from over 100 interviews/surveys with people with lived experience of gambling; aggregated data and statistical insights from banks on customer use of gambling blockers; and discussions with treatment providers, financial service firms, and regulatory bodies.
