Abstract

Signal transformers may be used within a switched-mode power converter to provide galvanic isolation between the power switching stage and the circuitry controlling it. A technique is described by means of which only two transformers are required to supply both the power semiconductor devices in a bridge leg topology with drive signals and local drive circuit power supplies.
