Abstract

If you're looking for an easy management role, look elsewhere. Such is the view of John Hogan, Registrar at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, of the challenges facing senior university managers and leaders. In this interview with Dr Lesly Huxley, he outlines the most common models of responsibility vested in university Registrars and provides a personal reflection on the complex nature of managing a large support service.
