Abstract

As the erupted volume is a very important quantity for historical or palaeo-volcanic eruptions to assess their size, the proposed constrained Bayesian method provide a framework to estimate the erupted volume and understand its uncertainty. The application is novel and it is practical and useful to many volcanologists.
