Abstract
With its focus on understanding the hierarchical nature of adaptive living organisation, artificial life has strong potential to make a positive contribution to an emerging research effort that combines methods and ideas from AI and Collective Intelligence to achieve real-world systems that provide bespoke decision support and guidance to citizens and agencies at national and trans-national scale.
