Abstract
A decision-aided DPSK receiver scheme is proposed, which can achieve channel equalization using data symbols alone. It makes use of the reverse modulation channel sounding technqiue to calibrate the fading channel and suppress the error floor. Significant improvement over conventional DPSK has been observed simply by adding a fading signal processing filter. Results for BPSK have been shown. The concept can be applied to QDPSK or 8DPSK systems. Compared with reference-based techniques, the advantage of this scheme is that no overhead is required to achieve channel compensation
