Abstract

This paper presents a new approach based on the combined use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and a Multi Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) for the integrated management of water system of Hoabinh reservoir in Vietnam, which is currently regulated under the operational rule developed for the ood season only. The optimization problem is first formulated in general terms and major methodological challenges are discussed, then the encouraging simulation results obtained so far over the case study are presented and commented.
