Abstract

Originality: This conference paper is currently being edited for publication in the Association's (BAICE) journal, 'Compare'. It is the result of a funded project to create an electronic archive for BAICE and draws on many of the Association's documents, as well as the annual Presidential addresses.
Significance: The paper documents the theoretical, intellectual and methodological developments in international and comparative research which have been represented by the Association.
Rigour: All available documentation for the first 15 years of the Association have been analysed in detail to support the analysis of significant developments.
