Briddon et al_2025_Eco-evolutionary dynamics between multiple competitors reduce phytoplankton coexistence but have limited impacts on community productivity

Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

Experimental evolution of three marine phytoplankton species under either intraspecific (monoculture) or interspecific competition (polyculture). These species were then combined based on competition history (monoculture isolates vs. polyculture isolates), to test the consequences of competition regimes on community assembly and functioning.

Data collected are:

species evenness

cell volume: um3

cell shape

population biovolume = density x size: um3/ul

population photosynthesis P_J_min measured in a 5ml vial

population respiration DM_J_min measured in a 5 ml vial
