Abstract
The trend for more slender and lighter structures means their dynamic behaviour is becoming increasingly important. Computational developments have vastly increased the possibilities for analysis in this area, but there are still many challenges and uncertainties. This briefing article reviews current approaches to dealing with uncertainties in loading, modelling and response acceptance criteria for increasingly dynamic structures.
