Abstract
On the 12th June 2019 a workshop was held looking at ‘Bristol City’s Future and the Role of Digital’. This interdisciplinary workshop brought together academics and practitioners with an interest in the research, development, application and governance of digital technologies in urban areas. Participants came from a wide variety of disciplines and sectors, such as social sciences, planning, health, engineering and computer science.
The aim of the workshop was to produce visions for possible digital city futures, that will inform Bristol City Council's development of its Digital Strategy and align with the existing One City Plan. Setting the tone for the workshop discussions were four provocative talks providing insights into the current activities, plans and challenges pertinent to the digital development of Bristol.
