Abstract
The focus of this paper is on Reduced Order Models (ROMs) of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes. The purpose of generating such models is to capture the dominant dynamics of the full set of non-linear CFD equations, but at much lower cost One method that has been implemented in the field of fluid flows, with some success, is based on the calculation of the linear pulse responses of the CFD scheme coupled with an Eigensystem Realisation Algorithm (ERA). This paper will show a range of 2D and 3D results that illustrate that the ROMs can reproduce full CFD calculations with reasonable accuracy at low cost.
