Abstract
In the context of Brexit, German and British discourses around citizenship are diverging ever more dramatically. We examine the presence of discretionary, decisional and allocative notions of citizenship in recent online newspaper corpora from both countries. Findings have urgent implications for the viability of future international and intercultural exchanges.
