Abstract

A real-time, non-iterative, multi-view depth estimation algorithm is presented. Based on the postulate that regions of similar colour in an image have similar depths, a novel filter is proposed which seeks to minimize the error associated with a given depth while preserving possible depth discontinuities at colour boundaries.
