Abstract

Optimization of system design is a key problem in planning flexible manufacturing systems. This paper demonstrates the viability of sophisticated factory simulation packages within a programming-free environment. The system developed by General Electric is taken as an example of meeting the ever-increasing requirements of advanced systems designers.
