Abstract
Honour killing, moraly and socialy accepted, is rooted in a patriarchal tradition and deeply attached to the body and sexuality of the woman. In Kurdistan, other factors of this violence are: the tribal culture and the tribal values, the militarisation of society and the culture of violence, which is a legacy of the different wars. We can add to this computer science that has been used without the necessary change of mentalities. Hundreds of women organisations are fighting for the defense of their rights and are leading campaigns against the honour killings.
