Abstract
Critical wetting in fluids with short-ranged forces is investigated for dimensions dperpendicular to diverge with the same critical exponent for dperpendicular to diverges as (3-d) -1/2 in the limit d to 3-. Their analysis suggests that the extent of the critical regime becomes vanishingly small in the same limit and provides further insight into the crossover from dperpendicular to 2 and non-universal exponents occur.
