Abstract
Kirigami techniques are used to create a new type of “open” honeycomb geometry with shape morphing characteristics. Cables are embedded in the structure to actuate the shape morphing. We present techniques for designing the manufactured shape of the honeycomb, and an analytical model to predict the deformed shapes.
