Abstract

Comments on Ratzenbock v Austria (28475/12) (ECtHR) on whether the refusal to permit different-sex couples to enter registered partnerships on the basis that they were available only to same-sex couples breached ECHR art.14 in conjunction with art.8. Considers whether a different outcome would be reached in a country in which marriage was available to same-sex couples.
