Abstract
A novel approach to the Cartesian loop transmitter where the baseband circuitry is replaced with digital signal processing is discussed. The technique eliminates the need for an analogue phase shifter, and simplifies the hardware architecture. Performance results show a 20 dB reduction of the power amplifier intermodulation distortion for a π/4-DQPSK, 18 Kbaud signal
