Abstract
A new ray-based simulation methodology for an adaptive antenna system is presented. Results for a typical microcellular environment highlight the behaviour of the adaptive antenna, and DS-CDMA capacity analysis illustrates the capacity enhancement attainable. For the cases considered, a minimum five fold increase in the overall spectrum efficiency is predicted for an eight-element adaptive antenna array employing the RLS algorithm
